Earning our degree

We have all heard the expression, "No pain, no gain!" It reminds us that to get anything in life we have to pay a price. Nothing is free. All good things come with effort. Well this morning I received an e-mail that flies in the face of this adage. It suggested that I could earn an advanced degree without having to take any exams or do any studying. The best part of this offer is that I could get a diploma in any field and walk away with all the benefits of having that degree. I know it sounds too good to be true but people can't send these things if they weren't real, can they? See for yourself. I've included it here:

Bacheelor, MasteerMBA, and Doctoraate diplomas available in the field of your choice that's right, you can even become a Doctor and receive all the benefits that comes with it! Our Diplomas/Certificates are recognised in most countries No required examination, tests, classes, books, or interviews. ** No one is turned down ** Confidentiality assured CALL US 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK For US: 1-734-687-6432 Outside US: +1-734-687-6432 "Just leave your NAME & PHONE NO. (with CountryCode)" in the voicemail our staff will get back to you in next few days.

The truth is that I am not that gullible. I know it is a scam. And yet when it comes to living out our faith some people think it is that easy. The truth is that once we have embarked on the journey of faith, once we have acknowledge God, we need to open the scriptures, spend time in prayer, attend worship services, meet with others in fellowship if we are going to develop an authentic and rich faith. It doesn't happen magically. Our faith grows and develops over time.

The Good News is that when you make an investment in your relationship with God, you will come away with a blessing. You will also reap many benefits and privileges as you continue your journey. So don't let anyone con you. Put in the time and energy and come away with a real relationship with the One who wants to be Lord of your life and lover of your soul.
