My Father's Eyes

Amy Grant changed my world when I heard her sing. I liked Christian music but never thought that it included popular tune that anyone could enjoy. I'll never forget my mother bringing home one of her albums and playing it. I fell in love with her and always take a step back in time when I hear her again.

So enjoy Amy Grant and let her take you back with this song.

I remember Amy Grant's "Our Father's Eyes" and "El Shaddai". Her "El Shaddai" is one of the very few CCM songs that has a powerful message about our Lord God. It is evident that God's Word is watered down in most CCM music with a "social gospel". The old hymns are mostly written by men and women who underwent personal tragedy and trial, ie: Fanny Crosby and Phillip Bliss. There are many Southern Gospel songs which speak powerfully of the Word of God. I may sound "old-fashioned" to some, but that is fine with me. We, as the greater Christian community, have tended to back off from preaching and singing the complete Gospel of Jesus Christ....and His perfect Gift of Salvation through faith (only). Only by faith and prayer are we enabled to reach the lost by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is a challenge for all Christians to truly love the lost enough to care.
